Driving in Chichester, and what it means for your tyres
The A27 Chichester bypass is one of the most congested stretches of road on the south coast. Its junctions, each a roundabout or a set of traffic lights, cause long queues in summer as traffic heads for the Witterings and the beaches. Stop-start driving like that wears front tyres and tests brakes.
Goodwood brings huge crowds for the Festival of Speed in summer and the Revival in September, and the lanes over the Downs to the north fill up on those weekends. The A286 and A285 climb steeply into the South Downs, where roads are narrow, winding and sometimes wet with chalk mud.
Chichester has no Clean Air Zone charge. The harbour villages of Bosham, Itchenor and the Witterings are low lying, and sea air there is hard on rims and valves.
Mobile tyre fitting in Chichester
Most homes around Chichester have drives or quiet roads, and the business parks and the hospital have large car parks. Choose your spot, mention any access notes, and the fitter arrives with your tyres, fits and balances them by the car and leaves with the old ones.

If you would rather take the car in, workshops on the network around Chichester show their distance and their fitted price before you book. A workshop suits alignment work.
