Driving in Chester, and what it means for your tyres
The inner ring road follows the city walls and the traffic squeezes through a handful of gates and bridges, with the Grosvenor Bridge carrying much of the southern flow over the Dee. Hoole roundabout, where the M53 and the A56 meet, is a well known pinch point at rush hour.
Chester sits at a crossroads for North Wales, Merseyside and Manchester. The A55 North Wales Expressway, the M53 to the Wirral and the M56 towards Manchester Airport carry a lot of commuter traffic, so plenty of local cars do big motorway mileages.
Chester has no Clean Air Zone charge. Race days at the Roodee and busy summer weekends bring crowds into the centre, which is a good reason to have the fitter come to you instead of driving into town.
Mobile tyre fitting in Chester
Most of Chester's suburbs have drives or quiet roads, and the business parks at Chester Business Park, Sealand and along the A55 have large car parks. Choose your spot, add any access notes, and the fitter brings your tyres, fits and balances them by the car and takes the old ones away.
