Driving in Wrexham, and what it means for your tyres
The A483 bypass runs along the west of Wrexham and links it to Chester and the North Wales Expressway to the north and Oswestry to the south. Many residents commute to Chester, the Wirral or Deeside, so dual carriageway miles make up a big part of their driving.
Wrexham Industrial Estate on the east of the city is one of the largest in Europe, and the roads around it carry heavy lorry traffic. Like the rest of Wales, most residential roads now have a 20mph default limit.
Head west into the hills towards Llangollen and the Horseshoe Pass, and the roads become steep, narrow and exposed, often icy in winter. Wrexham has no Clean Air Zone charge.
Mobile tyre fitting in Wrexham
Most Wrexham homes have drives or quiet roads, and the industrial estate and business parks have large car parks a fitter can use with permission. Choose your spot, add any access notes, and the fitter brings your tyres, fits and balances them where you are and takes the old ones away.
