Driving in Luton, and what it means for your tyres
The M1 runs along the western side of Luton between junctions 10 and 11, and a huge number of local cars commute down it towards London or up towards Milton Keynes. Fast motorway miles wear tyres evenly but steadily, so tread depth and the age of the rubber are the things to watch.
London Luton Airport brings heavy traffic along the A1081 and Airport Way at all hours. If you work at the airport or the business parks around it, a mobile fitting in the staff car park can save a trip at the end of a long shift.
Luton is hillier than people expect, with steep streets around High Town, Hart Hill and Farley Hill, and narrow terraces with cars parked tight against the kerb. Luton has no Clean Air Zone charge.
Mobile tyre fitting in Luton
Plenty of Luton homes have drives, and the airport, Capability Green and the town's industrial estates have car parks a fitter can use with the site's permission. Tell us where the car will be, and your tyres are fitted, balanced and the old ones taken away while you get on with your day.
Workshop fitting near Luton
Would you rather drop the car at a garage? Workshops on the network around Luton show their distance and their fitted price before you book. A workshop is best for an alignment check.
